As a Physiology graduate with ten years of international research and teaching experience, I have a diverse background. In the past, I worked as a tech assistant in a Cardiopulmonary diagnostic laboratory, where I conducted Electrocardiography, Echocardiography, and pulmonary function tests on patients. I also had the opportunity to train Medical students to perform these procedures. I have taught courses on basic Physiology, Anatomy, and Experimental Physiology to nursing and pre-med students from different backgrounds. My B. Tech thesis focused on the effects of exercise on vertical jump height in athletes, including baseball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer players. In 2015, I published my MS thesis on the nutritional management of Alloxan-induced Diabetic Nephropathy. Throughout my career, I have learned to effectively combine molecular and dietary interventions to manage Cardiovascular Diseases. Currently, I work at Klimis-Zacas' Lab to investigate molecular pathways involved in the nutritional management of wounds. As the only girl in my family growing up in Nigeria, I understand the challenges women face in education and career development. That's why I am passionate about Girls' Education and Empowerment and currently mentor several young women towards successful career development. My goal is to become a faculty member at a reputable institution, focusing on Nutrigenomics and Cardiometabolic research while mentoring young women towards career growth.
