Dr. Nazanin Abbaspour is a postdoctoral researcher at the Environmental Nutrition group of Loma Linda University. She comes from an agricultural-water engineering background with a Master’s degree in water resources management. She has also completed a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and is a Registered Dietitian. Her Ph.D. was an interdisciplinary project of nutritional, environmental, food, and agricultural studies from ETH University (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) in Zurich, Switzerland. She has authored two highly cited review papers on the impact of iron and zinc on human health, several other papers on nutritional-related topics, and coauthored a paper on the impact of climate change on California’s weather. Her primary interests are environmental nutrition, nutrition intervention studies, and functional and integrative nutrition.
