My long-term research interest involves the development of a comprehensive understanding of key pathophysiological mechanisms and the discovery of relevant therapeutic targets for diseases related to energy metabolism, including but not limited to obesity and diabetes mellitus. My academic training and research experience as a physician-scientist (endocrinologist) have provided me with an excellent background in multiple biomedical disciplines, including neuroscience, molecular biology, and genetics/genomics, as well as clinical/translational research perspectives. Currently, I am engaged in basic and translational research projects. In the upcoming NUTRITION 2023 conference, I will be addressing the metabolic effects of nutrients, such as protein restriction or a high-fat diet, on the efficacy and side effects of hormonal therapy. Through examining these complex nutrition-related issues, my aim is to shed light on previously unknown mechanisms that can be translated into practical applications for human health.
