Currently, I am visiting Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland as an Specialist/Expert/Educator/Researcher. My research interests span from Food systems, food environment, and nutrition to the double/triple burden of malnutrition, from One health and Planetary Health, building resilience, sustainability and capacitites in climate education to ditigital up-skilling and re-tooling of youths to improve employabilities and improve livelihoods. The later being more of a passion and my current undertaking in giving back to the society.
My latest research work was on weight managment project in Finland, where we have coauthored a paper on importance of adolescent period as a window of opportunity to act in weight management interventions. In 2021, we won a grant from One Health Network for the Horn of Africa (HORN) funded by UKRI to invistigate impact of COVID-19 and mitigation measures on food security in informal Settlement in Kenya. Together with colleagues from Rutgers University, we have been investigating the impact of African Indigenous Vegetable in improving micronutrient intake among school children. I have worked in many projects funded by USAID under the African One Health University Network (AFROHUN), and in projects under the Partners Enhancing Resilience of People Exposed to Risks (PERIPERI-U).

I am a member of the Instiutional Research and Ethics Committee (IREC) at Moi University/Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, I am also a member of the following: ASN, World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHA), Kenya Nutritionist and Dieticians Institute (KNDI), Association of Women in science and Engineering (AWSE), African Women in Agriculture, Research & Development.

I delivered the 8th Dr. Abraham Horwitz lecture (UNSCN), I am a Norman Borlaug fellow (USDA), and now Alan Berg scholar (ASN)! I am a recipient of 2016 IUNS Re-integration grant.
