I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Nutrition at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill who is passionate about how and why nutritional biochemistry affects various health and disease outcomes. Currently, my research investigates how intestinal microbial communities may influence or respond to a number of human disease states. Under the supervision of Dr. Ian Carroll, our primary question is how intestinal microbes may influence and adapt to the gut environment of individuals with anorexia nervosa.
