Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Stanford University
Dr. Heyjun Park is a biomedical scientist with her PhD in Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University; she has expertise in nutrition, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, and epidemiology. She is also a registered/licensed dietitian with clinical dietetic training at the UCSF Medical Center before joining the Snyder lab at Stanford Medicine.
Dr. Park believes that lifestyle factors such as diet and sleep are strong predictors of the onset and progression of chronic diseases along with genetic predisposition. Therefore, her primary research goals at Stanford are to deeply profile the diet and sleep patterns of individuals who are at risk for type 2 diabetes or affected by using machine learning models; discover related molecular markers of type 2 diabetes by using omics profiling; and develop personalized recommendations to optimize health. Her projects at Stanford also utilize cutting-edge technologies such as wearable biosensors (e.g., smartwatch) and continuous glucose monitoring.
