Liyue (Tessa) Zhang (MS, Nutritional Sciences) BS International Trade and Economics, Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu, China. After moved to the U.S., she decided to pursue a higher degree in the Nutrition field. Liyue is currently a Nutritional Sciences graduate student at San Diego State University (SDSU) and looks forward to graduating in December 2021. She is passionate about clinical research including both human and animal and has been working as a lab assistant in the graduate program. Her research areas have focused on the role of diets on cardiovascular risk factors with foods such as mixed nuts, watermelon, mango, etc. Liyue has achieved many academic accomplishments, including receiving several scholarships, obtaining an honored research manuscript, and maintaining a high GPA. Besides school, she is active in the SDSU Student Nutrition Organization and works as a volunteer in the related field, such as with UC San Diego Health, Moores Cancer Center, Associated Students Food Pantry (SDSU), and Kitchen for Good. Following her passion for food and enthusiasm for working with people, Liyue would like to be a Registered Dietitian in the clinical field after graduating and be able to help others to improve health or life quality by making a better meal choice.
