Dr. Amber CHIOU received her Ph.D. with major in Food Science from Rutgers University, USA. After joining the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a postdoc fellow, she participated in the projects including pathogenesis and antimicrobial resistance of foodborne pathogens. In the capacity of Principal Investigator, Dr. Chiou has started the research on studying the effect of gut microbes on the human health with the focus on probiotics and metabolic syndromes, as well as human milk microbiome and how early life nutrition affect and infant gut microbiota. The research team members adopt multidisciplinary approaches including microbiology, cell biology, and multi-omics analyses.
