Fernanda is a Wellcome Trust PhD student in Molecular, Genetic and Lifecourse Epidemiology at the University of Bristol. Before her PhD, Fernanda did an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her interests lie in the fields of nutritional epidemiology, cancer, causal inference methods and health policy. During her PhD, Fernanda aims to uncover the role of food processing in the rising incidence of upper-aerodigestive tract cancer.
