Jennifer is a Ph.D. candidate in Dr. Mary L’Abbe’s Lab in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, University of Toronto. She completed her dietetic training and MPH in Nutrition and Dietetics with a Collaborative Specialization in Public Health Policy at Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Previously, she completed her BSc in Biology and Psychology at McMaster University and a BASc in Food and Nutrition at Ryerson University. Her previous research work includes assessing the relation of low-calorie sweetened beverages and cardiometabolic outcomes, carbohydrate intakes on glycemia and cognitive functions in children and older adults, and validation of body composition assessment tools. Her current Ph.D. work examines the potential impact of the proposed Canadian ‘high-in’ front-of-pack labelling regulations on food supply, dietary intakes, and purchasing behaviours of Canadians.
