Dr Badiane holds a Master's degree and a PhD in nutrition and human food from the Faculty of Science and Technology at UCAD, with over 10 years' experience in implementing food security and nutrition projects and programs.
Her PhD focused on assessing the impact of nutrition-sensitive agriculture on the prevention of maternal and infant malnutrition during the first 1000 days of life in rural Senegal.
Her professional career has been crowned by the management and coordination of nutrition, food security and public health projects and programs.
For the past five years (July 2019-May 2023), Dr. Badiane has held the position of nutrition expert at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), coordinating several projects related to nutrition, school canteens, healthy food systems, agriculture and climate change in Senegal.
Since June 2023, Dr Badiane has been recruited to the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar as a teacher-researcher in Nutrition and Human Nutrition. This position reinforces his long experience in teaching and supervising students at Senegalese and foreign universities. Indeed, since 2013, he has been involved in teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students at the universities of UCAD, Bambey (UADB), Sine et Saloum (USSEIN), Ahmadou Mahtar Mbow (UAM), Thiès (UT), Saint Louis (UGB) and the Haute École Léonard de Vinci of the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium).
