Sunny Kim is a Research Fellow in the Poverty, Health, and Nutrition Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). She is a public health nutritionist, and her research focuses on evaluating program impacts on maternal, child and adolescent health and nutrition outcomes as well as the implementation and uptake of interventions, using quantitative and qualitative methods. Her current work involves the process and impact evaluation of large-scale nutrition interventions and improved measurement of nutrition coverage. She has conducted research studies in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, India, Ethiopia, Peru, and Vietnam. Before joining IFPRI, Sunny worked as a Technical Officer for Nutrition at the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization, where she developed intervention programs and promoted policies to reduce micronutrient deficiencies in various Latin American countries. Sunny has a PhD in International Nutrition from Cornell University, a MPH in International Health Promotion from George Washington University, and a BA in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
