PhD Student
George Washington University
My name is Xin (Tracy) Li, I am a first-year doctoral student at the Department of Exercise Physiology and Applied Nutrition of the Milken Institute School of Public Health of the George Washington University (GW). During my master's degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, I explored my interests in discovering the health impacts of dietary and psychosocial factors of cardiovascular diseases on functional declines in middle-aged and older adults. The major research project I participated in was to investigate the association between mid-life diet quailty and late-life physical function decline among U.S. older adults using the data from the Atherosclerosis Risks in Communities (ARIC) study. For my doctoral study at GW currently, my primary area of interest centers around investigating the diet quality among older adults, as well as the influences of nutrition and psychosocial factors on age-related functional declines in this age group.
