Associate Professor
St. John's Research Institute, India
As a public health scientist, my research area focuses on the ‘First 1000 days of life’; investigating the role of maternal modifiable factors that influence adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes. Since pregnant women and infants are some of the most vulnerable populations in our society, I aspire to make significant improvements to the maternal and child health community. I am an Associate Professor at the Division of Nutrition, St John's Research Institute, and a researcher in Public Health. I have been involved in conducting human experiments on pregnant women ranging from observational, interventional, and mechanistic approaches to understanding the various modifiable determinants of birth outcomes. I have successfully completed research studies that have been funded by International and National funding agencies as a Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Co-Investigator, which have been published in well-reputed international peer-reviewed journals. I am confident that with my academic and personal skills, along with my track record of working and liaising with researchers from multi-disciplinary fields, I can successfully accomplish large-scale research projects related to Community and Public Health Nutrition. I have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out deep-diving Research studies that address novel questions and generate novel findings that have lasting implications at both the scientific level, as well as for the community.
