Marian Winters is a rising junior at the University of South Carolina Honors College, majoring in Public Health with a minor in Law and Society. She has been working as an undergraduate research assistant in the USC Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior Department for the past year. Her research focuses primarily on global nutrition, including this project on the nutritional content of foods and beverages presented in Ghana television advertisements. Marian has also researched telehealth in South Carolina, including reimbursement policies, barriers to accessing telehealth services, and telehealth laws. She is currently working on a project that compares mediation by food insecurity between sociodemographic factors and psychosocial well-being among Mexican and Mexican American adolescents and adults. Marian has an interest in health policy, and research has allowed her to explore this passion further.
