Divya Choudhary is a highly dedicated Ph.D. student in Nutrition Science at the University at Buffalo, New York. She is passionate and dedicated to exploring the relationship between nutrition and healthy well-being. With a solid educational background, Divya has emerged as a significant contributor to the field.
She holds a Master's in Nutrition Science and a B.Tech + M.Tech in Food Technology. Currently, she is working as a Research Project Assistant in the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at UB. Her research primarily focuses on maternal and infant health (Pulse consumption and nutritional benefits). Divya's expertise lies in conducting extensive secondary data analysis, utilizing statistical models (ANOVA) to compare the impact of dried beans and chili on nutrient intake. Her findings have highlighted the positive influence of pulses on the macro and micro nutrient intake of infants during early childhood.
Divya effectively disseminates her research through peer-reviewed manuscripts and has presented her findings at prestigious conferences, e.g. The American Society of Nutrition (ASN 2022). Her contributions to the advancement of nutrition science have been widely recognized. In addition to this, her proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools like SAS has been instrumental in projects such as Project Viva, which focuses on egg introduction during infancy and its association with lower fat mass index in females.
Demonstrating dedication, research acumen, and adeptness in project management and laboratory techniques, Divya excels in her contributions to various research endeavors. Her academic achievements include the authorship of four peer-reviewed manuscripts, addressing topics such as egg introduction during infancy (The Journal of Nutrition), maternal lipoprotein particle distribution (Lipids in Health and Disease), and dietary pulse consumption in Childhood (under review in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition). Her contributions to these publications involved conducting research, analyzing data, and writing papers. She has also received recognition for her work, including an honorable mention in the Global Health Poster Competition (2022). She has been awarded the Annette Rachman Scholarship twice (2020, 2021)and the Mathew Morris Scholarship (2020) for her academic performance and her willingness to help others. She has been recently awarded first place at the Global Health Perry Poster Award (2023). She consistently showcases her commitment to nurturing knowledge and supporting peer students with her guidance and constructive feedback significantly enhancing their learning experience.
Outside of her academic pursuits, Divya actively engages with professional societies, such as the American Society for Nutrition, establishing valuable connections with experts in her field.
