Xiaoling Chen is a PhD graduate student researcher in the Kellogg Lab at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her BS and BBA from UMass Amherst and has conducted research on small molecule drug delivery and CRISPR-Cas9 gene therapy prior to starting her graduate studies. She is currently working on identifying novel AHR ligands derived from natural products, with a particular interest in Eastern medicinal plants that may regulate abdominal pain and gut homeostasis. She also serves as the Vice President in the State College Chapter of Graduate Women In Science. Hailing from Japan, she now calls Boston her home.
