Linda Thomas is a recent doctoral graduate from the von Lintig lab in the Department of Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Her primary research areas are vision and metabolism. Her doctoral work focused on understanding the mechanisms that govern carotenoid metabolism and homeostasis. More specifically, I investigated the role of β-carotene 9,10-dioxygenase (BCO2) in carotenoid metabolism. Today's talk will focus on factors that can influence macular pigment optical density within the retina.
