Amber Chen was born and raised in Hangzhou, China, and has been living in the U.S. since 2014. She graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2022 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Nutrition Science. At Emory, she worked as a research assistant at the Center for the Study of Human Health for the Nutritional Factors Associated with Infant Development Project and later started her independent study project on factors that inhibit/enhance the conversion of naturally occurring nitrate to nitrite. Outside of school, Amber worked as a student intern for dietitians in private practice and hospitals, which allowed her to gain clinical nutrition experiences in the field of sports nutrition, eating disorder, and rehabilitation. She is also passionate about public health and has gone on multiple service trips to underserved regions around the world. Amber is interested in maternal nutrition and hopes to explore more about this field through practicums. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cats, being in nature, reading, photography, singing, and traveling.
