Talitha Silva Meneguelli is a nutritionist with a master's degree in Nutrition Science from the Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa-Minas Gerais, Brazil. She is currently a PhD candidate in Nutrition Science at the same university and a visiting scholar at Cornell University in the Food Science Department. During her master's degree, she gained experience in research related to obesity and cardiometabolic risk and also participated in nutritional assistance projects for the community as part of an extension and research project. Throughout her doctorate, her focus was on conducting clinical trials to evaluate the effect of cashew nuts and cashew nut oil on health. The cashew nut oil, which is a product not yet available on the market, is being developed by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) in Fortaleza-Ceará, Brazil, and tested in collaboration with her research. Additionally, she conducted research on gut health using animal models during her time at the Trace Minerals and Nutrition Lab in the Department of Food Science at Cornell University.
