A.Fappi since 2019 is part of the Center for Human Nutrition of Washington University in St Louis as postdoc research associate, and has been developing clinical studies focusing in the effect of different protein sources over cardiovascular aspects and glucose homeostasis; the effect of Leucine in atherosclerosis and autophagic pathways; the impact of ANGPTL3 deficiency in humans and glucose metabolism and lipoprotein kinetics; APOC3 accumulation effect in lipoprotein of T1DM human subjects. Has been studing omega-3 effects on skeletal muscle since 2010, and currently studing the efffect of fish-oil supplementation upon the autonomic nervous system and small fiber neuropaty in humans with pre-diabetis.
