Luisa Fernanda Castillo holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Texas at El Paso where she conducted research as an NIH Fellow. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate at Cornell University and an NIH T32 fellow focusing on the effect of micronutrients on gene expression. Further, she seeks to identify the rate-limiting components of folate-mediated one-carbon metabolism (FOCM) for mitochondrial DNA integrity.
