Reuben Reed is a final year PhD candidate at King’s College London (Department of Nutritional Sciences), previously graduating from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, and Loughborough University with an MSc in Exercise Physiology. His research is focused on the influence of ethnicity in the development of cardiometabolic disease, particularly in black African/Caribbean populations. Reuben has investigated ethnic differences in ectopic fat deposition and is currently using stable isotopes to conduct detailed studies into postprandial lipid handling. He is also interested in ethnic differences in the complement system and inflammation, and how this interacts with postprandial lipid metabolism.
