Lyra Johnson is currently pursuing her Master's in Public Health at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude with her BA in Global Health Studies and Anthropology from Northwestern's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. During her undergraduate career, Lyra engaged in bio-anthropological research with Dr. Sera Young, studying global water insecurity. Lyra was selected to work on water-related issues with the United States Agency for International Development within the Africa Bureau, assisting the Water and Sanitation Hygiene team in regional information sharing. In addition to her work with global water access, Lyra has spent the past two years working with her local health department in Evanston, IL within the Communicable Disease Surveillance Division, investigating cases of STIs, Hepatitis, and Lyme Disease. Upon completion of her master's, Lyra plans to eventually pursue either a Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology or a DrPH with a focus on social and behavioral sciences.
