Megan Deitchler has more than 20 years of experience in international nutrition research, program monitoring and evaluation, and project management. She currently serves as the Director of the Intake Center for Dietary Assessment at FHI Solutions. Megan is actively involved in the preparation of all Intake-led scientific and survey guidance publications, in providing technical support to Intake partners carrying out dietary surveys, and in work to develop, validate, and operationalize a suite of diet-related metrics. She is also responsible for overseeing the development of a set of Intake technology-based tools to help reduce barriers for dietary data collection, analysis, and use, including: the Global Diet Quality Score (GDQS) App and the Intake4Earth App. She is the Co-Principal Investigator for a research initiative to validate the GDQS metric for children, serves on the Steering Committee for the International Conference on Diet and Activity Methods (ICDAM), and is a member of the FHI Solutions Executive Team. For the 15 years prior to leading the start-up of Intake, Megan worked on the Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance (FANTA) project, where she oversaw the development, validation, and implementation of a wide set of monitoring and evaluation tools and managed a diverse portfolio of research activities as the Deputy Director for Global Leadership. She has a PhD in Public Health from the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University.
