Mary C Andreae, MS, RD, LDN, is a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Sciences, at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), Johnson City, Tennessee. Mary is a Registered Dietitian and an Assistant Professor in the Didactic Program for Dietetics at ETSU. She is in the final year of her doctoral studies in the Biomedical Sciences program, at Quillen School of Medicine, ETSU. Her primary research focus is the intestinal microbiome, fecal fermentation profile, and macronutrient metabolism in human subjects. Additional areas of research include biochemistry and absorption of micronutrients, including vitamin D and coenzyme Q10; obesity, oxidative stress, inflammation, and whole food and single nutrient antioxidant supplementation.
