Laura is a PhD candidate in the School of Public Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. With a background in nutrition and Indigenous health research, her research interests include urban Indigenous food systems, child and youth food literacy, and community-based program evaluation. Laura is also a Settler member of the Wisahkokotewinowak Collective, an urban Indigenous organization that cares for food-producing land sites across Waterloo Region in Ontario, Canada. In these roles, she pursues actionable research that is useful to community partners and lays the foundation to create meaningful change in the lives and environments of local residents.
