Parker Gutjahr is a PhD Candidate in Nutrition at Texas Woman's University and a Registered Dietitian. She is also a Graduate Teaching Assistant for undergraduate nutrition and food science students. Her dissertation research focuses on developing the first validated questionnaire to assess college students' knowledge and attitudes towards dietary protein. Her research recently won second place in the STEM category at the Federation of North Texas Universities Graduate Student Research Symposium. She hopes to complete her research and graduate in May 2024.
Her research interests include survey development, sports nutrition, endurance athletes, eating disorders, vegetarianism/veganism, pediatric nutrition, nutrition education and behaviors, public health, epidemiology, as well as the adolescent and young adult years. Her career goals include academia and nutrition/food industry, specifically developing/modifying sports nutrition products. In her free time, Parker enjoys spending time with her 2-year-old daugther and husband, running (has completed six full marathons and currently training for #7), strength training, cooking, and baking.
