Shuhan Li is a second-year Ph.D. student in Dr. Liwei Gu's lab, University of Florida. She came to the US in 2019 and was a Master's student in Dr. Gu's lab, working on the inhibitory capacities of cranberry polyphenols against the E. coli adhesion to the T24 human bladder cells in vitro. After graduating in 2021, she continued her Ph.D. study in the same lab to work on the effects of cranberry juice intake on the inherent anti-adhesion capacities of human urine. The project is trying to explain the effects of cranberry juice on UTi prevention by exploring the changes in the urinary metabolome and gut microbiome of healthy females.
