Matt is an assistant professor and the director of programming and evaluation for the SNAP-Ed program at the Louisiana State University Agriculture Center. Matt has worked in implementation and evaluation of the SNAP-Ed program at LSU for the past 5 years and completed a PhD in Nutrition at LSU in May 2022, which focused on an analysis of equity in service provided to African American participants in the SNAP-Ed program. Prior to working at LSU, Matt obtained a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2017, where his work focused on a mixed-methods evaluation of the national sugar fortification program in Zambia and a randomized controlled trial of methods to reduce vitamin A deficiency. Matt’s current work focuses on centering SNAP-Ed participant voices through qualitative research and using community participatory evaluation to advance health equity through the SNAP-Ed program in Louisiana.
