Katherine Pope is a doctoral candidate at the Indiana University School of Public Health with a strong background in research and practice focusing on obesity prevention. She has experience working in clinical medicine and the public health field, both as an oncology nurse as well as program director of the Sky Lakes Wellness Center in rural Oregon. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in modern languages and literature from Kenyon College, a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Indiana University, and a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is focusing on health behavior and epidemiology at IU while serving as project manager of an R03, NIH-funded grant. Her research interests are obesity prevention and the built environment and early childhood obesity prevention.
