My research interests lie at the intersection of digital health technology (mHealth, wearables, smart sensors) and data science (machine learning, AI, biomedical signal and image analysis). Combining clinically interpretable computational algorithms, I have identified novel 'digital biomarkers' of clinical outcomes in cancer and diabetes. In particular, I have developed continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)-derived diabetes risk indicators, based on fine-grained analysis of glycemic differences during the daytime and overnight as well as postprandial glucose patterns. My work hopes to realize a "digital precision medicine" future for prevention and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity.
