Amy Mahar is a registered dietitian and began practicing in 2008. She worked in the clinical area for about 9 years focusing on neonatal and pediatric care. During this time she began a doctorate program and continued to work full time. She transitioned her career to public health, and then into indutry and is currently a medical science liason with Nutricia North America.
Amy completed her PhD this past spring, and graduated in April 2023. Her research concentration was nutrition epidemiology and focused on how self-reported cannabis use was associated with several nutrition-related outcomes using the Coronoary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults cohort.
