Dr. Li’s research has primarily focused on studying nutritional and phytochemical intervention on cancer and metabolic disorders through epigenetic mechanisms, gut microbiome and metabolomics. Dr. Li is particularly interested in how nutrition and diet influence pregnant women’s health and reduce the risk of certain diseases in the babies later in life. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in the area of nutrition, epigenetics and human health research that have been received widespread national/international recognitions and won several research awards.
