Albert Einstein College of Medicine
I am Yanbo Zhang, Ph.D. in epidemiology and biostatistics. Originally from China, I am currently working as a first-year postdoc research fellow with Dr. Qibin Qi at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, NY). Previously, my research focused on investigating the associations of combined lifestyles, nutrition (especially obesity and sweetened beverage consumption), and socioeconomic status with cardiometabolic diseases. I have published 30+ papers (17 as first author), including those featured in reputable journals such as JAMA, BMJ, and Advances in Nutrition, etc. I also have served as a peer reviewer for 50+ papers from 20+ journals including JAMA, NEJM, BMJ, AJCN, etc. Currently, my research interests have expanded to explore how gut microbiome and metabolome mediate or interact with major lifestyle factors in relation to cardiometabolic diseases. Inspired by Prof. Frank Hu's influential review of how nutritional epidemiology influenced policy and people's behaviors, I am striving for my own research to address at least one health issue within a specific region in the future. My favorite sports are volleyball, swimming, and tennis (trying to have a healthy lifestyle), and I also like watching TV shows and films.
