Dr. Cara Ruggiero is an early career researcher whose expertise lies at the intersection of food and family systems. She completed her PhD in Nutritional Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University. Her dissertation explored parent feeding practices and early life obesity prevention, with a focus on sibling influence. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition Equity in the Department of Pediatrics at Mass General for Children and is completing the Harvard Wide Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship. Her current research examines clinical and community approaches to address obesity and food insecurity within families. Dr. Ruggiero is also a practicing registered dietitian, utilizing family-based approaches to pediatric feeding disorders and weight management.
