ORISE postdoc at USDA-ARS
USDA
Oakland, California, United States
Andrew Oliver, a postdoctoral fellow affiliated with the USDA-ARS, is driven by a curiosity concerning the role of microbes in maintaining our well-being. Within the Western Human Nutrition Research Center (WHNRC), Andrew is mentored by Dr. Danielle Lemay, and together they employ machine learning and other computational techniques to explore the interplay between nutrition and the gut microbiomes's profound functional capabilities on human health. In 2021, Andrew obtained a PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of California, Irvine. That same year, he was granted an ORISE fellowship, which has facilitated his current postdoctoral pursuits at USDA.
