Dare Baldwin is a Full Professor at the University of Oregon (Psychology and Clark Honors College). She received her B.A. from U.C. Berkeley, M.Sc. from U.C. Santa Cruz, and Ph.D. from Stanford University (Psychology, with Special Designation in Cognitive Science). Baldwin investigates mechanisms underlying human learning. Her research has spanned a substantial range of topics; a common theme has been shining light on the developmental emergence of sophisticated social functioning and its pivotal role in neuro-cognitive development more generally. Baldwin’s research has been recognized by APA’s Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution, the Boyd McCandless, John Merck Scholars, and Cattell Awards, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. A two-time Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, Baldwin is also a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and an executive board member of the Society for Language Development.
