Dr. Jonathan Krakoff graduated from New York University Medical School, and did his residency in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He joined the Indian Health Service and worked at Whiteriver Hospital on the White Mountain Apache reservation from 1992-1998 developing an interest in treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes. He subsequently did his Endocrinology fellowship via the NIH combined program in Bethesda and Phoenix. He is now the director of the Obesity and Diabetes Clinical Research section of the Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch which operates the clinical research unit for the NIDDK in Phoenix.
