Paul F. Jacques, ScD, is a Senior Scientist at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts University and Professor at the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Since receiving his doctoral degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health more than 35 years ago, Dr. Jacques has applied his knowledge of epidemiology to the study of nutrition and aging at the HNRCA. His research interests include longitudinal studies of the relationships between B vitamins, whole grains, polyphenols, hydration, and diet patterns and maintenance of metabolic, cognitive and physical health with aging. Dr. Jacques’ current research activities includes longitudinal studies of B vitamins and cognitive and eye health, carbohydrate quality and cardiometabolic health, and hydration and healthy aging. Dr. Jacques has published more than 400 papers and has made many important contributions to the field of nutrition and healthy aging.
