Dr. Sonia Hartunian-Sowa is a proven leader in nutrition, food science and communications. As the Director of Nutrition Science & Advocacy at DSM Nutritional Products, she is responsible for activities in the food & beverage, dietary supplement, medical nutrition and pharma segments. Dr. Hartunian-Sowa has served on many executive boards and held corporate advocacy roles working with ILSI, GMA, IFIC and a founding member of the Whole Grain Private-Public-Partnership. In prior positions, she worked in product develop at Mars, Inc., nutrition strategy and communications at Mondelez Intl., and has developed and launched international brands. In addition to industry experience, Dr. Hartunian-Sowa was an Associate Professor at the College of Saint Elizabeth where she taught and researched in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Throughout her career, Dr. Hartunian-Sowa has worked to elevate cross-functional team conversations and has been a champion for improving public health and corporate, social responsibly.
